WHO WE ARE

The Wood County Young Democrats are a chapter affiliate of the Ohio Young Democrats, and our purpose is to elect, support, uplift, and engage with young Democrats all across Wood County, Ohio. Officially forming with just 10 founding members in August of 2018, our organization’s membership has increased by over 7 times that number since then, attracting members from every corner of the county!

As a chapter affiliate of the youth arm of the state Democratic Party, our organization strives to elect Democratic candidates, encourage youth involvement in the Democratic Party, support the ideals of the Democratic Party at all levels of government, instill young people with the progressive values for which the Democratic Party stands, and provide young people with the skills and experiences to lead create lasting change, both in Wood County and across the state!

Joining the Wood County Young Democrats will present you with a unique opportunity to get involved in local politics that you can’t find anywhere else in Wood County. Our organization offers a variety of ways for our members to learn and grow such as organizer training sessions, internship opportunities, leadership development, and state & local party activism opportunities.

The Wood County Young Democrats encourages young Democrats to find their voice, whether that be running for office, working for a campaign, or just acquiring a better understanding of the political processes that affect our everyday lives. Ultimately, our organization is about giving young people the tools to create meaningful, lasting change in their communities, and that all starts with you.
